Last week, I joined an Instagram loop on the theme of Teddy Bears’ Picnic on a whim. I threw a few things I had in the basement together for this and was pleasantly surprised that it turned out so cute. The kids absolutely adored it. The table was all set up and waiting for them when they got home from school. I heard a few “this is the best day ever!” and “can we please do this again”? I think it’s safe to say the reviews were good.
It was surprisingly simple to put together. Here’s what I used
- Red and white check table cloth – Dollarama
- Meri Meir Adventure Awaits banner
- Balloons
- Teddy bears from the kids’ rooms
- DIY teddy bear party hats (here is the tutorial I adapted. Note, I used string because that’s all I had, but elastic really would have been better)
- DIY “Feed the Bears” sign
- Felt flowers – Aurora and Holly Children’s Accessories and Play, Sewing Seeds Play, Lovevery
- Lantern with electric candle
The food was a simple selection of ham and cheese sandwiches, fruit, veggies and a few special treats. I added a small bowl of gummy bears for fun. To drink we had pink lemonade. There were a few more treats here than we would usually eat for dinner, but I think it’s okay to have a special exception night every once in a while.
Would you try this? Since it was so much fun, I would definitely do it again.
